New Family Division High Court Judge

Miss Judith Mary Frances Parker, QC, has been appointed a Justice of the High Court. The Lord Chief Justice will assign Miss Parker to the Family Division.

Since 2001 Chambers and Partners legal directory has placed her in an individual starred category as the leading child lawyer and she was named as Chambers and Partners' Family Law Silk of the year in 2005, the first year the awards were made.

Miss Parker practices in all areas of family law with a particular emphasise on children's law.

Having had over 60 of her cases reported, she is a sought after lecturer on child law and related topics.

In 1973 Miss Parker, 57, was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple and took Silk in 1991. She was appointed a Recorder in 1999 and is currently approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Miss Parker has written an article in June issue of the Family Law journal entitled 'Expert Evidence In Action'.
