In September 2016, Cafcass received a total of 1,216 care applications.  This figure represents a 23% increase compared to those received in September 2015. 

Cafcass received 7,438 new care applications between April and September 2016. The 1,216 new applications received in September 2016 represents the highest ever number of applications for the month of September.

The latest year to date demand is 23.1% (1,394 applications) higher than April to September 2015 and 37.8% (2,041 applications) higher than April to September 2014.

Cafcass have received on average over 1,200 new care applications per month since January 2016.
