William Tyzack

William has been a member of QEB since 2008.

He is recommended in Chambers and Partners 2015. His main areas of practice are:

• all areas of family law relating to both finance and children;
• international cases, particularly child abduction, relocation, jurisdiction disputes and international maintenance issues.  William has advised solicitors on English law in Germany, Gibraltar, the Channel Islands and has provided evidence to the Supreme Court of New York, USA.  In May 2013 he was invited by the German Ministry of Justice to give a lecture (in German) at a judicial conference on child abduction and the English courts' approach to the 1980 Hague Convention and Brussels II revised.  He is a member of the Legal Working Group of the child abduction charity Reunite;
• confidentiality and disclosure issues;
• applications in respect of vulnerable adults in the Court of Protection, involving both welfare and financial issues.

William has lectured on a range of subjects, including disclosure, confidentiality and privacy, insolvency, nuptial agreements and child abduction, and in 2011 acted as rapporteur to the Dartington Interdisciplinary Conference.

Between January and April 2013 he was on secondment in Munich with a firm of German lawyers working on family and civil (mainly privacy and media) cases and also spent time sitting with judges in the local court and state Court of Appeal.
