Jonathan has a proven track record in the fields of family and public law. His practice covers all aspects of community care law, including cases where mental health issues arise. Jonathan’s experience includes cases which are dealt with in the Administrative Court and are concerned with local authorities’ obligations in relation to children and cases dealt within the Court of Protection. He often deals with cases under the Mental Capacity Act, 2005, where deprivation of liberty issues arise and applications brought under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court. He also has experience in healthcare law, particularly where public law and best interests’ issues arise. Jonathan regularly lectures on community care law, mental capacity and local authorities’ obligations to vulnerable adults. Jonathan is also a co-author of Dementia and the Law.
