Ian Curry-Sumner

Dr Ian Curry Sumner began his academic career at Christ’s College, Cambridge before emigrating from England to the Netherlands in 2001. Thereafter he undertook research and teaching in international family law, before concluding his career as an associate professor at the University of Utrecht. In 2011 he established Voorts Legal Services, a company providing training in international family law across Europe. He has specialist knowledge of the way in which the courts of European Member States interpret and apply Brussels II revised and the 1996 Hague Convention
