Chris Bryden was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in July 2003. Chris is a tenant of the Chambers of Timothy Raggatt QC, 4 King’s Bench Walk. Chris studied jurisprudence at Magdalen College, Oxford and gained an LLM from University College, London thereafter. Prior to beginning his pupillage he worked for a year in the litigation department of the Treasury Solicitor. He undertakes advocacy and advisory work in numerous areas of the law, with a particular interest in employment, family, housing, PI and general common law and Chancery cases. Chris regularly lectures in various fields of law and has a prolific output of journal articles and commentary, writing for the New Law Journal, Solicitors Journal and Lexology.com amongst others.
Chris is co-author of I CAN see you: Harassment and Stalking on the Internet, published in the Journal of Information and Computer Technology Law in 2011 and and he has a strong practical and academic interest in the legal issues surrounding harassment and stalking. He has also co-presented a paper at the IADIS Conference held in Rome in July 2011 building on his and Michael Salter's conclusions, and which was published in the October 2012 International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies: “Cyberstalking in the UK: Analysis and Recommendations”, IJDST 3(4), 34-51 Oct-Dec 2012.
Chris works closely with the National Centre for Cyberstalking Research, based at the University of Bedfordshire, as well as the Cyber Stalking Unit established by Collyer Bristow. He is also affiliated with the National Stalking Training Academy which provides training and awareness of the risks posed by Cyberstalking. In November 2011 both he and Michael were appointed visiting Fellow of the University of Bedfordshire, as part of their ongoing work with the National Centre for Cyberstalking Research.
