Law Society Practice Note: Acting in the absence of a children's guardian

This practice note sets out what you should do if a court appoints you to represent a child in cases where the guardian is either unavailable or there is a delay in appointing one. It replaces Appendix 8 of Good Practice in Child Care Cases.

This advice has been endorsed by Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers.

This Practice Note came into force on 25 August 2009.
