The Law Society has published guidance for solicitors to help them meet the needs of vulnerable clients.

Some clients have difficulty accessing and using legal services. Research has concluded that solicitors need to adapt their practices to identify and meet the needs of vulnerable clients.

This includes clients with a range of physical and mental health problems, including learning disabilities. The Practice Note also gives advice on the best approach to take when working with clients who may lack mental capacity.

The Law Society has also published an easy-read guide for vulnerable people and/or their carers, which explains how to access the services of a solicitor.
