Child Maintenance and Other Payments Act 2008

This Act establishes the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission; amends the law relating to child support; makes provision about lump sum payments to or in respect of persons with diffuse mesothelioma; and for connected purposes.

Section and sections 55, 59(8), 61 and 63 shall come into force on the day on which this Act is passed (5 June 2008).

Section 35 shall come into force on the day after the day on which this Act is Passed (6 June 2008).

The remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by order made by statutory instrument appoint, and different days may be so appointed for different purposes.
