The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary has published a message from the President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, in which the President endorses the publication of the President’s Public Law Working Group report.
The report sets out the recommendations from the Public Law Working Group on how to improve the Family Court’s ability to address the needs of children and families at the centre of public law cases, following the steep rise in public law cases prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The report is even more timely in light of the coronavirus pandemic placing additional pressures on the Child Protection and Family Justice systems, demonstrating the need for reform.
