Virtual roundtable on future of family mediation

Justice minister Simon Hughes is inviting mediators to join him in a virtual roundtable discussion on the future of family mediation.

The live webchat on Monday 10 March will include both the Minister for Justice and Civil Liberties Simon Hughes and the family justice policy team. 

It will take place between 10.30am and 11.30am in a bid to gather ideas about what more can be done to increase the uptake of family mediation.

Web link opens early

The minister is keen to hear from as many mediators as possible so if the time of the live webchat is not suitable you can still take part.

The web link will open early at 10.30am on Friday, 7 March to allow people to submit questions and comments in advance (see below).

Online forum

There will also be an online forum opened after the webchat for mediators to post their thoughts.

The minister and the family justice policy team will be focusing on the following topics:

• What are the barriers preventing people using family mediation as an alternative to court?
• What else can be done to encourage the uptake of family mediation?
• What have you done to encourage the uptake of mediation in your local area?
