Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division, has issued an updated version of Family Procedure Rules Practice Direction 25B (The Duties of an Expert, the Expert’s Report and Arrangements for an Expert to Attend Court). The amendments came into force on 1 October 2014.

Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division, has issued an updated version of Family Procedure Rules Practice
Direction 25B (The Duties of an Expert, the Expert’s Report and Arrangements for
an Expert to Attend Court). The amendments came into force on 1 October 2014.
The Practice Direction now sets out (in a new annex) the standards for expert witnesses in children proceedings in the Family Court.
In addition, the amendments add:
- a new paragraph 1.3;
- a new sub-paragraph 4.1(aa);
- a new sub-paragraph 9.1(i)(vi); and
- additional text to the statement of truth contained in 9.1(j).
