Figures released by Cafcass show that the number of care applications received in August 2015 increased by 4% compared to those received in August 2014. A total of 943 care applications were received. 

Between April 2014 and March 2015 Cafcass received a total of 11,153 applications. This represents a 5% increase in comparison to the same period in the previous financial year when 10,620 applications were received.
