Simpson Millar LLP has acquired Foster & Partners, one of Bristol's leading family law practices.

Fosters has nine family lawyers operating out of its Bristol City Centre offices.

'We are delighted to welcome Fosters into our firm,' says Emma Pearmaine, Head of the Family Law Department at Simpson Millar LLP. 'Family law is a key area of growth for Simpson Millar LLP so combining our nationwide practice groups with Fosters makes for a formidable partnership that will help establish a strong footprint in the region and deliver even more comprehensive legal solutions to clients.'

'It is a practice area which demands sensitivity, experience and a real focus on helping clients arrive at a viable compromise that works for everyone. Our customers will benefit hugely from Fosters' recognised expertise.'

Founded in 1976, Fosters specialises in all aspects of family law from relationship breakdowns, finance and property to disputes about children and cases of domestic abuse or injury. Paul Foster, Partner says:

'At a difficult time in their life our clients expect the highest level of service and support from a solicitor who genuinely cares about them. We know Simpson Millar LLP shares these values and we are delighted and proud to join forces with its team. We have no doubt the nationwide reach, breadth of experience and resources that Simpson Millar LLP brings will benefit all our clients.'

Peter Watson, Managing Director of Simpson Millar LLP said:

'Fosters is an excellent fit for our business and we are delighted that they have agreed to join with us. We have developed a very positive reputation in the legal sector for the manner in which we have conducted our consolidation activities and in step with our stated strategy as part of Fairpoint Group PLC, we will be pursuing further strategic acquisitions in the near future.'

Fosters will be combining with Simpson Millar LLP's existing Bristol operation from 1 July 2014.
