Our popular annual series of family law training events returns for 2018 with a series of five dates now confirmed:

  • Cardiff, 6 February 2018, Park Inn by Radisson Cardiff City Centre
  • Leeds, 15 February 2018, Novotel Leeds Centre
  • Birmingham, 21 February 2018, Copthorne Hotel Birmingham
  • Manchester, 6 March 2018, Renaissance Manchester City Centre Hotel
  • London, 15 March 2018, Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington

The Family Law Updates are a well-established fixture in the calendar for family law practitioners, providing an essential one-stop training update at unbeatable value for money. Whilst the events will retain the key components that will be familiar to previous delegates, we have refreshed the programme for 2018 to introduce some new elements.

As in previous years, the Updates will provide an opportunity to learn from leading practitioners about the most significant developments in family and child law over the preceding 12 months, with a District Judge providing a review of the latest changes to practice and procedure.

As ever, there will also be a session dedicated to keeping you up to date with the latest developments in financial remedies, which will look at the impact of recent cases including AAZ v BBZ and Others and Sharp v Sharp.

In addition to the established format, we will be introducing a workshop session where delegates will have the opportunity to undertake a practical exercise exploring the negotiation techniques that can be used to resolve family law disputes.

For 2018, the programme will also include a session aimed at senior partners and practice managers looking at the particular challenges that they face in managing a family law practice. The refreshment breaks and lunch will provide an excellent opportunity to network with your peers.

Finally, delegates will also have an opportunity to attend an additional informal session, after the conclusion of the taught element of the training, looking at the impact of moving divorce proceedings online, which will include a practical demonstration of some LexisNexis workflow solutions.
