The Department for Education (DfE) has produced a guide for social care practitioners and social care commissioners on the support system for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
It is designed to help social care professionals understand their statutory duties under the SEND reforms in the Children and Families Act 2014.
The document is not a substitute for the statutory 0-25 SEND Code of Practice but highlights the main duties to which social care professionals must have regard and gives links to the relevant sections of the Code.
