A 'Time to Talk' consultation was launched by the Department for Children, Schools and Families on 6 September 2007. Its stated purpose is to:

  • improve the health and well-being of children and young people;
  • safeguard the young and vulnerable;
  • close the achievement gap between the advantaged and disadvantaged
  • raise standards;
  • increase post-16 participation and attainment.

Responses can be made online or a response form returned. The closing date is 19 October 2007. The consultation results will be published on the DCSF website in late Autumn 2007.
