The Children's Legal Centre is opening a new London office at 38A Great Portland Street.

The head office of the Children's Legal Centre is at the University of Essex in Colchester.

The London office is headed by Shefali Shah and is staffed by a legal team with experience in child and family law.

The Children's Legal Centre is a national charity committed to promoting children's rights in the UK and worldwide, and works to ensure that children's interests are represented at every level of the legal process.

The London office of the Children's Legal Centre opened in early February 2008 in response to the growing demand for advice and representation on child law.

The office accepts calls from across the Greater London area on many areas of child and family law including Child Safety and Parenting Orders; Contact and Residence Orders; Abduction; Care/Adoption Proceedings; Divorce/Separation; and Financial arrangements including cohabitants.

Shefali Shah, Head of the Children's Legal Centre London office said:

Now, more than ever, it is important that members of the public have the chance to receive legal advice of a high calibre, particularly around child law. The Children's Legal Centre is already a leading provider of legal services and the launch of this office will add to that."

Shefali Shah is a qualified solicitor, with experience in the public and private sector involving Children Act proceedings, Adoption, Family Law, Adult Protection, Community Care and Asylum matters. She has conducted high profile cases and has extensive experience in training. She is member of the Law Society Children Panel and is an independent legal advisor on an adoption panel.
