Private law cases received by Cafcass in December 2016 increase by 1%

In December 2016, Cafcass received a total of 2,938 new private law cases. This figure represents a 1% increase compared to those received in December 2015 and marks the second highest number of cases for the month of December (2012-13 saw 2,990 cases).The latest year to date demand is 9.2% (2,551 cases) higher than April to December 2015 and 20.4% (5,162 cases) higher than April to December 2014.
