Nottingham's East Midlands Divorce Centre to host online divorce pilot

Date:31 JAN 2017
Third slide

Nottingham's East Midlands Divorce Centre will host the online divorce pilot, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced today, 31 January.

Last week the MoJ launched a Practice Direction, PD36D, published to support the first small online divorce pilot. At the time the location for the pilot had not been revealed. Today an MoJ spokesperson said, 'I can confirm that it is being run at the East Midlands divorce centre.'

Tony Roe says, 'At this stage, we do not know the scale or duration of the pilot. I understand that the pilot will take the form of certain live testing which, I am told, will not be an accurate reflection of the vision for what will be made available to the general public.'

Practice Direction 36D is available to view here.
