The Lord Chancellor has appointed a new member to the Civil Procedure Rule Committee (CPRC).

The CPRC is a non-departmental public body that makes rules of court for the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal, the High Court and the County Court.

The Lord Chancellor, in consultation with the Master of the Rolls, has appointed Jonathan Klein as barrister member of the Committee.

Mr Klein is a barrister practising mainly from Enterprise Chambers in Leeds. His practice is principally in the High Court, in the Chancery Division and Mercantile Court, although he continues to practice in the County Court too. He is a Deputy High Court Judge in the Chancery Division, and a Recorder authorised to deal with civil cases in the County Court. He has been a member of the Inns Conduct Committee.

The appointment is from 1 September 2016 for 3 years.
