Family analysis: Richard Harrison QC and Jennifer Perrins, barristers at 1 King’s Bench Walk Chambers, suggest that given the majority of financial disputes are determined on the basis of need, it is somewhat unsatisfactory that the outcome in such cases depends to a large extent on the very wide discretion that judges have in this area.
