Law Commission to conduct full review of weddings law

Date:2 NOV 2018

The Law Commission has welcomed the Chancellor’s Budget 2018 announcement that the government will ask the Law Commission to conduct a full review of wedding laws.

The review will seek to propose options for a simpler and fairer system to give modern couples meaningful choice, given that the current law ‘does not meet the needs of modern couples’. The Law Commission and government will settle the terms of reference for the project as the next step.
