Childhood neglect and abuse: comparing placement options

Date:26 MAY 2017
Third slide

A review examining the effects of abuse and neglect on children, and whether different placement types affect their outcomes.

The Department for Education has recently published an evidence review examining the effects of abuse and neglect on children, and whether different placement types affect their outcomes.

The aim of the review is to bring together a summary of key research findings in one document. It is intended to help judicial and local authority decision makers (and others including Cafcass guardians) reflect on the needs of children who have been abused or neglected and to understand how different placement types may address particular needs.
