The Supreme Court has announced three judicial vacancies. Following the appointment of Lord Dyson as Master of the Rolls an immediate vacancy has arisen and further vacancies will be created in March 2012 when Lord Walker retires and in June 2013 when Lord Hope retires.
Applicants are required to have held high judicial office for a period of at least 2 years, or to have satisfied the judicial appointment eligibility condition on a 15-year basis or to have been a qualifying practitioner for a period of at least 15 years.
The selection commission is looking to draw applications from the widest field, and in making recommendations will consider the nature of the work done by the court and the likely development of the court in the future.
