The parties were married for 4 years and had one child together. They were an international family and lived in various jurisdictions as well as having substantial connections with the UK.
The wife sought financial provision under Pt III of the Divorce and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1984 from the English court. The award was approached on the basis of what was fair and reasonable. The wife was awarded £3m plus £50,000 pa for the child.
