Jordan Publishing announce inaugural Family Law Awards

Date:25 MAY 2011

Family Law AwardsFamily lawyers across England and Wales are getting ready for the inaugural Family Law Awards ceremony which is being launched by Jordan Publishing to celebrate and recognise the many successes of the profession.

The Family Law Awards were officially launched on Tuesday evening by Jordan Publishing's newly appointed CEO, Will Ricketts, at a successful social evening in Bristol.

The awards are designed to provide encouragement to family lawyers at a time when many of them face severe cuts to legal aid funding, increased competition and huge changes to practice procedures.

As competition in the legal market intensifies ahead of Alternative Business Structures being introduced in October, the Family Law Awards also provide lawyers with the opportunity to stand out and gain recognition for their skills.

The ceremony will be held at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London on 18 October 2011 following the popular Family Law Conference, the leading annual training event for family law practitioners. Awards will be presented in eight categories ranging from Family Law Firm of the Year to Most Innovative Family Lawyer of the Year.

The identity of the well-known personality who will be hosting the evening as well as providing the entertainment is being kept secret and will be revealed on the Family Law website on 8 June.

The shortlist and winners will be chosen by a judging panel made up of the heads of the three family law practitioners' associations, ie the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution and the Association of Lawyers for Children, along with Family Law editors and publishing executives. So that the whole community has an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of their peers, two of the awards will be voted for by Family Law readers.

Tickets can be booked and nominations can be submitted via the purpose built website for the Family Law Awards: www.familylawawards.com.
