Access to District Judge of the Day to be reformed

Date:1 AUG 2013

The Senior Designated Family Judge for London, His Honour Judge Altman, has announced that HM Courts & Tribunal Service will no longer be able to allocate a District Judge of the Day on a daily basis.

The District Judge of the Day has provided a point of access in London for parties making applications that need immediate attention.

The Court is reviewing its procedures and is seeking suggestions from the profession. In the meantime, it will introduce alternative arrangements to ensure that cases that need urgent attention are dealt with.
